"Here is the latest custom from member FALSEQUEST of a Vans Sk8-Hi rendition. The inspiration for the “Broken Toe” can easily be recognized. About 3-4 months ago he suffered a sequence of multiple fractures while skating. Days after the worst damage took place and the swelling went down the bruising was at its most vibrant, he then realized the color was almost identical to some suede he had from an old project…

The majority of the upper features reinforced padded black nylon while the toe cap consists of burgundy suede. The traditional 3 row heel stitching of the Sk8-HI along with the toe box stitching and perforations were abandoned to create a simple and sophisticated feel."
