ARTCRANK™ + A Poster Party for Bike People from ARTCRANK on Vimeo.

You make Bike posters? You should get in on this. ArtCrank at Interbike.

Details:

Every year, the bike industry throws an epic, sprawling party known as Interbike., where manufacturers come to show off next year’s must-have gear. This year, they’ve asked ARTCRANK to join the party. So we’re planning a poster party for bike people like no other, featuring a roster of artists from across the country and — just maybe — around the world.

To get the party started, we’re putting out the call to artists and designers everywhere to create bike-inspired posters for the show. Whoever you are, wherever you live, if you’d like to be considered, please send us an email with three samples of previous work in digital form: URLs, PDFs or JPGs. Please do NOT submit poster designs for the show. All submissions must be received by Friday, August 12, 2011.

NOTE: Interbike is a trade event, and thus is not open to the general public. But we promise to post lots of pictures, so it’ll be just like you were there with us in Vegas (minus the hangover).

LAB Rats.

Global Friends

Emanuel Batali, one of the Stockholm riders i was in contact with before my trip.

I promised to hand deliver a copy of TL&R to Emanuel. I hadn't gotten a hold of him, before

I went riding around with my cousin. Something told me to throw the DVD in my bag.

Came down a street, and this guy started yelling my name, and it was Emanuel.

Pretty rad. We shot the shit for a bit and I got to ride his track bike around for a minute.

The bike things we talked about are so universal and it really shows how global the

fixed gear/ urban rider community is. Next time I'll have my track bike and we'll ride, my man!

Very nice!

Crescent Bikes

Crescent bikes, the one brand that was everywhere in Sweden. 65%-70% of the bikes on

the street were Crescent, same in the shops. They have the market on lock. Old and new

bikes, they were everywhere. Starting off in the early 1960"s Crescent & Monark bikes (same

frames, different colors) have become the dominant brand in Scandanavia. It's kind of crazy, how

everyone rides this one brand. I kind of want one.

Random Swedish Bikes I saw or rode...

This was the first track bike I saw in Stockholm, within a few hours of being there. I thought

well that's promising. Little did I know...

These are what I mostly saw... Rent a bikes! Super cheap to rent, and they were everywhere.

I didn't ride one of those though...

I rode the Tiger! This was my bike in Stockholm and I loved it. So much fun!

These were the bikes Kelly, Ben, Jonas, and I rode around Stockholm with. The best!

Saw a lot of these WWll bikes on the road, this one was in a military museum.

One of the few Track bikes, I saw locked up on the street in Malmo.

Guess which one I rode?

Another example of Swedish rent-a-bikes, this one was from my Moms hometown of Karlskrona.

Watch out Sweden, I'm coming back soon and I'm bringing some heat with me.
