"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name."
This song sums up the Twamp for me. It's my home away from home. The Best people work there, always have what I need or can get it for me within a few days. These guys have been supporting every event we have done, since been had throwing events in LA. They love bikes and bike culture as much as you do if not more. I really love the influence, that the shop has on the neighborhood kids. You got TJ schooling kids with BMX, Kyle yelling at them to climb mountains, Ace hooks them with Drop bars and a little of his Boogie wisdom. Couple of tips for you, they like beer on Fridays, Cache loves root beer, and Omar loves Hugs....
Thanks a lot my homies.
I forgot, they have an awesome blog and Cycling Club (which I'm a proud member of) Check out Hella Juiced and be on the look out for the Juice Crew on the roads...
My doods
My Doods, Ian and Kenny. I ran into them at Pure Luck this weekend. I haven't seen Kenny's new bike since he built it up, and it's pretty ill... He's got some bike twin shit going with Ian's Black Panther, but I ain't mad. It was good seeing both you, and I'm stoked to hear Ian play this weekend at the After party for Lord ll. Dope whips, fellas...
Bernard Kits in stock at O20
I was in O20 on last Friday and Kyle had just opened the box of Bernard Kits. Holy Shit, what a sick looking kit in person... I bought a hat right off the bat, and will be getting at least a jersey in the next week, if not the whole kit... Go swoop at the shop, they got em.
The Ride Journal, Thanks Kelly.
So... I failed on this one. It is Monday. I forgot the The Ride at home, and didn't write down any info on it. It's pretty good, a collection of bike short stories and photo essays from around the world. The best is that the Bicycle Kitchen has a featured story in it as well. I would tell you which Cook wrote it but, yet again I forgot it at home. I probably should have waited to post this til I got home, but I though it was funny story and wanted to share. It's really been a Monday for me, I almost got nailed twice on the way to work. Great start. Anyways, you can get this at O20 in LA. I just wanna say thanks to my Sister for getting this for me!!! I'll update this fail post, tonight when I get home.
Here's a little bit from the site about who they are. I think it captures the Journal perfectly....
Born, as all good things are, out of a conversation over Mexican food and Pacifico beers, The Ride is an all encompassing read. We know that most people who share our obsession with bikes don’t want to be pigeon-holed as roadies, freeriders, track racers, BMXers, XC riders or even commuters. They are just riders. So we wanted to create something for them, and also for us. Something that crosses both cycling and international borders.
